Meet Dr. Peter Wirth

Dr. Peter Wirth is a plastic surgeon and Co-Founder of Madison Plastic Surgery. He is completing his plastic surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and brings a detail-driven approach to facial, breast, and body aesthetics. His philosophy is rooted in natural-looking refinement, clear patient education, and a calm, personalized experience from consultation through recovery.

Advanced Aesthetic Fellowship Training

Dr. Wirth will soon begin a one-year fellowship in aesthetic surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (MEETH), widely recognized as one of the most prestigious aesthetic surgery programs in the country. 

During this fellowship, he will further refine his expertise in rhinoplasty, facelift surgery, and cosmetic breast and body procedures—building on the technical foundation of his residency with advanced aesthetic specialization.

Research, Leadership, and Academic Contribution

Throughout his career, Dr. Wirth has been actively involved in clinical research and has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on breast reconstruction outcomes, aesthetic surgery, and the business of plastic surgery. He also serves as a reviewer for several plastic surgery journals and contributes to national committees within The Aesthetic Society and the American Council of Educators in Plastic Surgery.

Education and Background

Dr. Wirth graduated cum laude from Colby College with honors in neurobiology and earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine.

Originally from New Jersey, he now calls Madison home and is proud to help bring an elevated, big-city approach to aesthetic care right here in Wisconsin. 

Beyond the Operating Room

Outside of medicine, Dr. Wirth enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, golfing, and hiking—interests that reflect his appreciation for both community and balance in everyday life.
